River Terrace Gardens is located in the borough of River Edge, Bergen County, New Jersey.
A suburb of New York City, River Edge is only eight miles from the George Washington Bridge.
Although this garden apartment community is nestled among mature trees and green spaces, there is direct access to Rte 4, shopping centers, and supermarkets, as well as exceptional schools.

Town Information:

River Edge is a lovely community consisting primarily of single family homes. Median income (according to the 2010 census) is $97,816. Population is around 11,700. River Edge is located 8 miles west of the George Washington Bridge. Many residents commute into the city or work locally for businesses, hospitals, and universities.

Public Transportation:

River Edge has two trains stations providing service on NJ Transit’s Pascack Valley Line, which runs north–south to Hoboken Terminal with connections via the Secaucus Junction transfer station to New York Penn Station and to other NJ Transit rail service. Connections are available at Hoboken Terminal to other NJ Transit rail lines, Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, PATH trains, and NY Waterway ferry service to the World Financial Center and other destinations.

Local bus service provides access to the NY Port Authority Bus Terminal and service to Rockland County, New York.


River Edge has an excellent school system—in fact, many of our tenants are drawn here for the school system. There are two primary schools. River Terrace Gardens residents can walk to Cherry Hill School (grades 1-6). For 7-12th grades, River Edge and neighboring Oradell share combined district schools—River Dell Middle School and River Dell High School. Public school students from the borough are eligible to attend secondary school programs offered by Bergen County Technical Schools. Two parochial schools: St. Peter Academy (a K-8 Catholic School) and the Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey (Nursery-8th grade) are also located in River Edge.
